GasGarda is an IoT solution designed to prevent gas-related accidents. Imajine was hired to develop the platform, which monitors gas levels in real time and shuts off gas delivery when dangerous levels are detected. The system ensures the safety of property owners, utility companies, and first responders.

THE CHALLENGE
Gas leaks pose serious risks, including fires, explosions, and loss of life or property. Traditional monitoring systems often lack the automation and reliability to prevent such incidents.
GasGarda aimed to create a system that not only detects gas leaks but also actively prevents disasters by automatically shutting off the gas supply and sending real-time alerts to stakeholders.
OUR DESIGN PROCESS
Design process
The design process focused on creating a user-friendly system that integrates hardware and software to monitor, control, and shut off gas valves when necessary.
User flow and system requirements definition
This phase focused on defining user roles (utility companies, installers, administrators) and establishing the data flows between sensors, gateways, and the central system.
UI Design
Designed dashboards and mobile interfaces for all stakeholders, including administrators and installers, to manage networks, view alerts, and control gas valves.
OUR SOLUTION
Imajine designed an IoT platform for GasGarda that integrates real-time gas monitoring with automatic shut-off mechanisms. Using AWS IoT Core for cloud management and MongoDB for data storage, the system allows utility companies to manage networks, monitor gas levels, and respond to alerts via web dashboards and mobile apps.
Feature highlight
Automated Gas Shut-Off
The system shuts off gas supply when dangerous gas levels are detected, preventing fires and explosions.
Real-time monitoring and alerts
The system monitors gas levels constantly, sending alerts to property owners, utility companies, and emergency services.
Centralized dashboard for utilities
Utility companies can manage devices, monitor gas levels, and respond to incidents through a web dashboard.
Mobile installer app
Installers use a mobile app to quickly set up and register devices, making field deployments faster and more efficient.
Redundant communication
Maintains communication between gateways to reduce downtime.
Multi-sensor support
Supports different gas types, including methane and carbon monoxide.
Custom alerts
Alerts can be customized based on gas type or location.
Gateway failover
Backup gateways take over if the main gateway fails.
Valve status monitoring
Tracks the position of valves (open/closed) and reasons for closure.
Historical data storage
Stores gas levels and system actions for analysis.
QR code scanning
Sensors and controllers can be registered by scanning QR codes.
Additional sensors
Can include other sensors like seismic or flood detectors.
Remote firmware updates
Allows for firmware updates over the air to all connected devices.
Coming soon
The platform is currently in the development phase.
